Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the FB Marketplace Scraper Chrome extension (the “Extension”) accesses, uses, stores, and shares information when you use it.

1. Information the Extension processes

When you start a collection on a supported Facebook Marketplace page, the Extension may process information visible to you on that page, including:

• Listing titles, prices, locations, availability, listing dates, descriptions, conditions, attributes, specifications, URLs, and displayed image URLs.
• Category-specific information displayed for vehicles, property, electronics, clothing, and other Marketplace categories.
• Seller names, Marketplace profile URLs, join years, displayed follower and active-listing counts, profile and cover images, ratings, strengths, and reviews when available.
• Reviewer names, profile or image URLs, review dates, ratings, notable strengths, review text, and displayed like counts when available.
• The Marketplace page URL, category or search context, session name, collection status, timestamps, and user-selected settings.

2. How information is used

Collected information is used only to provide the Extension’s user-facing features: gathering Marketplace listings, opening listings for details, displaying previews, saving session progress, resuming eligible sessions, filtering results, retrying incomplete items, and creating CSV or JSON exports that you request.

We do not use collected Marketplace information for advertising, behavioral profiling, credit decisions, data brokerage, or sale to third parties.

3. Local storage and retention

• Collection sessions, listing results, seller information, settings, plan state, and license state are stored in Chrome local storage on your device.
• Sessions remain until you delete them, clear the Extension’s storage, or uninstall the Extension.
• Deleting a session removes that session’s locally stored Marketplace results. It does not reset the Free plan’s session-usage counter.
• CSV and JSON files are created only when you request an export and are saved through Chrome’s download functionality.
• Image URLs are stored as references; the Extension does not upload Marketplace images to our servers.

4. License and subscription information

If you activate, validate, change, or deactivate a Pro license, the Extension processes:

• Your license key and Dodo Payments activation instance identifier.
• A device label containing the Extension name and browser user-agent information.
• License status and the last validation time.

This information is transmitted over HTTPS to the dedicated FB Marketplace Scraper Cloudflare Worker and to Dodo Payments as needed to activate, validate, or deactivate the license. Marketplace listings, seller data, reviews, session contents, and exports are not included in license requests.

5. Third-party services

• Facebook: The Extension reads supported Facebook Marketplace pages displayed in your browser after you initiate collection. Your use of Facebook is subject to Facebook’s own terms and privacy policy.
• Cloudflare Workers: A dedicated Worker relays license activation, validation, and deactivation requests and confirms that a license belongs to the FB Marketplace Scraper product.
• Dodo Payments: Dodo Payments provides checkout, subscription management, and license services. Payment-card and bank information is handled by Dodo Payments and is not collected by the Extension. See the Dodo Payments Privacy Policy.

6. Information we do not collect

• Facebook passwords, authentication cookies, access tokens, or login credentials.
• Messages sent through Facebook Marketplace.
• Payment-card or bank-account information.
• Browsing history outside supported Facebook Marketplace pages.
• Analytics, advertising identifiers, or cross-site tracking data.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell or upload collected Marketplace data. We do not transfer that data to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers. License-related information is shared only with Cloudflare and Dodo Payments as necessary to provide licensing and subscription functions, or when disclosure is required by law.

8. Permissions

• activeTab and Facebook host access: Used to identify supported Marketplace pages and collect information visible in those pages.
• tabs: Used to open listing detail pages temporarily during an in-depth collection and to open checkout, subscription, or expanded Extension pages.
• storage: Used to retain settings, sessions, results, Free plan usage, and license state locally.
• downloads: Used to save CSV or JSON exports when requested.
• FB CDN access: Used to recognize displayed Marketplace image URLs.
• Dedicated licensing-worker access: Used only for Pro license requests.

9. Security

License-related transmissions use HTTPS. Collected Marketplace data remains in Chrome local storage unless you export it. No storage method is completely secure, so protect your browser profile, license key, and exported files appropriately.

10. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Our use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide or improve the Extension’s single user-facing purpose.

11. Your choices and responsibilities

You control when collection starts, which Facebook Marketplace page is processed, which local sessions are deleted, and which results are exported. You are responsible for using the Extension and exported information lawfully and for obtaining any required permissions or consents.

You can remove locally stored Extension data through Chrome’s extension controls or by uninstalling the Extension. You can deactivate a Pro license from the Extension; this releases the activation and removes the locally stored Marketplace license state without deleting saved collection sessions.

12. Children’s privacy

The Extension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the Extension’s functionality, data practices, or applicable requirements change. The revised policy will show a new “Last updated” date.
